Our office has a state of the art sterilization lab equipped with the most up-to-date sterilization equipment. A sterile atmosphere is a major concern for us. All ADA, OSHA, CDA EPA, and CDC requirements are recorded and implemented on a scheduled basis and our staff is trained in all areas of safety and sterilization. We protect our staff as well as we protect our patients and are committed to keeping a safe and sterile environment. The health of both our staff and our patients is very important to us.
Infection controls and universal precautions protect clients and staff alike. Everyone benefits from rigorous infection control — you, your dentist, and the dental team. The cornerstone in a good and safe dental practice is the element of trust. You should feel free to discuss this topic with our staff and receive a straightforward answer.
Our office has taken the time to create, adopt, and train our staff on requirements of the regulatory and guidance agencies listed above and make sure that everything specifically that we do or chemicals we handle are done in compliance with these agencies.
These measures include:
- Disinfectant hand soap and foam
- Gloves and face masks and eye protection
- Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
- Sterilization of all equipment before every use
- Disposable materials
- Proper handling and use of x-ray equipment
We thoroughly sterilize all reusable equipment, including dental hand pieces between each patient. We use an autoclave, a device that kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat and pressure; and, our water lines are disinfected with a Sterilox system, which is a safe, effective electrolytic hyperchlorous system that goes beyond the ADA and CDC recommended guidelines for sterility. Our dentists, staff, and their families use our facility for services and they trust we have taken precautions to be safe, so you should feel confident in trusting us to take care of you and your family as well.
The best defense against disease is information. The more you know, the better equipped you are to make wise decisions about your health care. The more you know about our daily procedures and policies, the more comfortable you will feel.
